From the very first year, we teach students a methodology aimed at developing their creativity. The challenge? Being able to propose solutions that are both relevant and innovative. We put them in a real-world scenario with a specific set of requirements to follow and teach them how to respond to it while avoiding clichés. To nourish their thought process, we ask them to look for references (literary, philosophical, artistic, etc.) that they can rely on to develop their own response. The development of creativity also involves a lot of experimentation. Classes at LISAA are primarily held in workshops: where one experiments, manipulates, tests, attempts, creates, undoes, and where learning from mistakes is encouraged.
Are you looking for a way to explore your creative potential and refine your career plans? Our multidisciplinary preparatory year offers the perfect opportunity! You will acquire the theoretical, technical and methodological fundamentals of applied arts, as well as benefit from specialized introductory workshops.
The Applied Arts/Design Preparatory Year is a key year. When you leave high school, this preparatory year helps you to refine your professional project: we stimulate your creative sense, we help you to structure your thinking, to build up a base of general knowledge, to experiment with techniques, to discover the design professions through discovery and initiation workshops. This year prepares you: either to prepare for the competitive entrance exams of the higher art and design schools or to enter LISAA's higher cycles: in this case, you will enter directly into a 2nd year of the Bachelor's programme. At the end of the preparatory year, you will have the opportunity to show the skills you have acquired during juries, during which you will be able to submit a portfolio of work and a final project in line with your choice of orientation for the following year.
At the end of this preparatory year, you will be able to join one of LISAA Paris' higher education courses in the 2nd year in animation / video games, fashion, interior architecture and design or graphic design, depending on the preferences you have developed during the year and provided you have the technical skills and level required. Entering a bachelor's degree directly into the 2nd year allows you to optimise your study time. In order to ensure that this transition directly into the second year goes as smoothly as possible for you, you will be supported by the teaching staff: specific courses and workshops will enable you to continue your course in a fluid manner. It will also be possible for you to join these courses in the first year in order to study the fundamentals of your chosen discipline in a more specific way.
