About

LISAA

Arts, Design & Architecture

From the very first year, we teach students a methodology aimed at developing their creativity. The challenge? Being able to propose solutions that are both relevant and innovative. We put them in a real-world scenario with a specific set of requirements to follow and teach them how to respond to it while avoiding clichés. To nourish their thought process, we ask them to look for references (literary, philosophical, artistic, etc.) that they can rely on to develop their own response. The development of creativity also involves a lot of experimentation. Classes at LISAA are primarily held in workshops: where one experiments, manipulates, tests, attempts, creates, undoes, and where learning from mistakes is encouraged.

Course details

The international training in 2D and 3D animation is taught in French or English. It allows students to specialize in the various artistic professions of this field, while benefiting from state-of-the-art digital techniques equipment and a teaching team composed of animation professionals.

What skills will you acquire?

Pre-production

Develop the production schedule and production tracking documents for a film that combines both 2D and 3D animation

Create the visual design elements (characters, backgrounds, props, special effects) necessary for the production of a 2D/3D animated film

Create the storyboard to visually tell the story of the film through still images, then create the animatic (soundtracked storyboard)

Prepare the animation: draw each frame with precise details of the background, composition, character movements, and key poses from a specific viewpoint (layout background, layout posing)

Production

Create the 3D volume assets (modeling/texture-shading)

Animate all elements of the scenes in 2D and 3D (characters, objects, backgrounds, special effects, lighting, and cameras)

Post-production

Light and render the 3D scenes

Assemble all elements (compositing), finalize the color grading (color correction)
