Video Game

From the very first year, we teach students a methodology aimed at developing their creativity. The challenge? Being able to propose solutions that are both relevant and innovative. We put them in a real-world scenario with a specific set of requirements to follow and teach them how to respond to it while avoiding clichés. To nourish their thought process, we ask them to look for references (literary, philosophical, artistic, etc.) that they can rely on to develop their own response. The development of creativity also involves a lot of experimentation. Classes at LISAA are primarily held in workshops: where one experiments, manipulates, tests, attempts, creates, undoes, and where learning from mistakes is encouraged.

Course details

The Bachelor's program in Video Game Designer - GAME ART specialization prepares you for various artistic professions related to Game Art. Over the course of three years, you will be introduced to 2D character concept, 3D sculpting, 3D modeling, character texturing, as well as 2D character and environment concept.

Skills and teaching methods

The Bachelor Video Game Designer program spans over a period of 3 years and offers a choice of 3 specializations from the first year: Game Art, Game Design, Tech Art, which correspond to the professions in the video game industry.

The Game Art specialization will allow you to train in the artistic direction of characters in video games. You will learn to create the artistic and visual environment of the game, by creating characters in 2D or 3D, using traditional media or a graphic tablet.

Although the program is intended for post-baccalaureate students, it is possible to integrate it in the 2nd or 3rd year depending on your level.

To validate your curriculum and familiarize yourself with the professional world, you will have to complete an internship of at least 1 month in a company, preferably at the end of the 3rd year or during the summer holidays.

After obtaining your bachelor's degree, you can continue your training in video games by following the Game Art Master's program offered by LISAA Paris, in order to deepen and diversify your knowledge.
