About

LISAA

Arts, Design & Architecture

From the very first year, we teach students a methodology aimed at developing their creativity. The challenge? Being able to propose solutions that are both relevant and innovative. We put them in a real-world scenario with a specific set of requirements to follow and teach them how to respond to it while avoiding clichés. To nourish their thought process, we ask them to look for references (literary, philosophical, artistic, etc.) that they can rely on to develop their own response. The development of creativity also involves a lot of experimentation. Classes at LISAA are primarily held in workshops: where one experiments, manipulates, tests, attempts, creates, undoes, and where learning from mistakes is encouraged.

Course details

The Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design / Illustration at LISAA Paris is a 3-year program designed for creative students who wish to specialize in the field of Graphic Design with a particular focus on illustration. This program will allow you to develop your style and uniqueness in areas such as children's illustration, editorial cartooning, advertising, and social media.

In addition to practical courses, you will benefit from graphic design culture courses to refine your eye and professional sessions to learn the ins and outs of the profession (brief analysis, first sketch design, writing a coherent retro-planning, creating a quote, client relations) in order to be ready for the professional world.

Skills and teaching methods

The post-baccalaureate illustration training offered by LISAA will allow you to develop a personal style and adapt it to a variety of subjects that you may encounter throughout your career. By learning graphic design and illustration tools, you will be able to express your creativity through fictional projects, personal projects, or projects for clients. You will learn to master illustration techniques and key graphic design tools, as well as respond to different types of orders such as children's illustration, comics, press illustration, advertising, and social media.

What skills will you acquire?

The training also provides you with an in-depth culture of illustration and design. Internships and recruitment coaching sessions will help you prepare for your professional integration.

Thus, during your course and thanks to the project-based pedagogy practiced at LISAA, you will be able to acquire essential skills to become an illustrator. You will be able to:

  • Define and analyze the problematics of an illustration project.
  • Design the first sketches of the project and define graphic choices.
  • Present illustration proposals to obtain client validation and establish a coherent retro-planning.
  • Develop and realize an illustration project.

Subjects

Illustration is the art of composing a message subordinate to the expectations of a client through a visual representation that can use different techniques of expression: drawing, of course, but also infographics, collage, photomontage, etc. It is this entire field of possibilities that the Bachelor of LISAA Paris will allow you to explore. You will also learn the basics of graphic design, which are essential for professional integration.
