About

LISAA

Arts, Design & Architecture

From the very first year, we teach students a methodology aimed at developing their creativity. The challenge? Being able to propose solutions that are both relevant and innovative. We put them in a real-world scenario with a specific set of requirements to follow and teach them how to respond to it while avoiding clichés. To nourish their thought process, we ask them to look for references (literary, philosophical, artistic, etc.) that they can rely on to develop their own response. The development of creativity also involves a lot of experimentation. Classes at LISAA are primarily held in workshops: where one experiments, manipulates, tests, attempts, creates, undoes, and where learning from mistakes is encouraged.

Course details

The Bachelor in Fashion Design offered by LISAA Mode Paris lasts for 3 years and is available in French or English. It will enable you to create innovative and complex collections in collaboration with renowned brands or for your personal projects. This program combines creativity and technique, as well as artisanal and industrial skills, to help you bring your ideas to life in volume, develop your style, and acquire solid technical skills such as sewing, pattern making, and draping on a dress form. This program meets a specific professional demand in the fashion industry, where designers who understand garment construction are highly sought after and stand out in the market.

Skills and teaching methods

The fashion industry is constantly evolving, with the emergence of new trends, technologies, consumer habits, and concerns. Stylists need to make sense of these changes by incorporating new practices into their creations. Fast fashion requires stylists to be highly agile and adaptable, while new technologies enable increased personalization of the customer experience.

Social media has also transformed consumer behavior, with the rise of co-creation methods for products. Multi-channel distribution offers new opportunities to enhance the customer experience, while corporate social responsibility has become a major concern for consumers. Industry players rely on research and innovation to offer environmentally and socially conscious products.

What skills will you acquire?

The skills acquired during this bachelor's degree program prepare you best for entering the professional world. Therefore, upon completion of the program, you will be able to:

  • Define the creative brief for a collection while respecting the brand's positioning
  • Develop and structure a collection
  • Manage the production of a collection, from prototyping to final design
  • Promote a collection to internal teams, partners, decision-makers, and/or fashion professionals.

Subjects

The first year of this fashion bachelor's degree is common to all Bachelor programs in the Fashion Design field at LISAA Paris (the Stylist/Modelist Bachelor and the Stylist/Textile Design Bachelor). It is at the end of the first year that you can choose the program that suits you best.

The training uses several teaching methods to allow beneficiaries to acquire all the skills required by the targeted title. The pedagogy is designed to accompany, empower and maximize the autonomy of learners through various teaching methods:

  • Lectures: theoretical teachings,
  • Flipped classroom: learners prepare a topic in advance, which is then worked on and individually deepened during face-to-face classes,
  • E-Learning: the school provides E-Learning programs and tutorials via the BlackBoard Learn platform,
  • Blended: E-Learning is a complementary support to face-to-face classes.
  • Workshops: learners explore a theme or acquisition of the title defined above through an intensive program over a limited time,
  • Project-based learning: projects are designed transversally across several subjects and/or internal training programs at the institution or with partner schools over a long period (semester),
  • Case studies: learners are confronted with a problem given by a partner company of the school, on a real case study, a response to a need in the professional environment.
  • Autonomy: autonomy time is provided in the schedules to allow learners to work on the various topics covered during classes independently.
  • Professionalization: a team dedicated to professionalization is at the service of learners at defined times in the schedules, and conferences on topics related to the sector are regularly offered.
