About

JUNIA

Engineering & Technology

JUNIA is a French engineering school born from the merger of three prestigious schools, namely ISA (Higher Institute of Agriculture), ISEN (Higher Institute of Electronics and Digital Technology) and HEI (Higher Studies in Engineering).

This merger has made it possible to combine the expertise and know-how of each of the schools to offer a more comprehensive and multidisciplinary engineering education, focused on ecological, digital and technological transitions. JUNIA students thus benefit from a wide range of specializations ranging from agricultural sciences to digital engineering, renewable energies, smart and resilient cities, and many other fields.

JUNIA is a French engineering school focused on ecological, digital and technological transitions, where students and teaching staff tackle the great challenges of today and tomorrow.

From food science to AI, through smart agriculture and renewable energy, as well as smart and resilient cities and environmental sciences, the wide range of specializations offered in our Master's programs in Science and Engineering is designed to meet the multidimensional challenges of our future.

Course details

The Engineering Cycle at HEI Lille is a high-level generalist engineering course in 5 years after the baccalaureate. This training allows students to acquire multidisciplinary skills in different fields of engineering, as well as a solid business culture and a great capacity to adapt to technological and economic changes. Students can choose their field of specialization from among the 15 offered in the 4th year and can also take additional options to personalize their course. HEI Lille also offers opportunities for international mobility, internships in companies and personalized support to help students build their professional project.

The first years

The 1st year of the HEI engineering cycle aims to explore your passion for science and for business, with the goal of finding solutions to problems that may be encountered. These 2 semesters constitute a common core year in which many subjects, whether new or already known, are discovered, deepened and must be mastered for further study in the 4th and 5th years within the chosen professionalization field.

.

It is also a year of discovery for the project part that has generally been rarely addressed during your previous school career.

The 4th and 5th year

The choice of professionalization field is a key step in the HEI engineering cycle. In years 4 and 5, each student completes his or her training by specializing in one of the 15 professionalization fields offered. These specializations cover a very wide range of fields, which makes HEI a generalist engineering program. You will have the opportunity to specialize in aeronautics, textiles, architecture, construction, chemistry, mechanics, energy, and many others. To discover all the areas of specialization offered, you can refer to the following list:

  • Building development architecture
  • Building and Civil Engineering
  • Innovative Chemistry and Ecological Transition
  • Mechanical Design
  • Electrical Systems and Automated Energies
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Medical Engineering and Health
  • Information Technology and Information Technologies
  • Industrial Operations and Logistics Management
  • Finance Management
  • Mechatronics and Robotics
  • Smart Cities
  • Textile Technologies, Innovation and International Management

You don't have to choose right away, you have until the end of your 3rd year to make your choice. Achievements in these areas and presentations from the leaders may help you decide. You will also have the opportunity to get information from students already in the field. You will thus have the means to choose with full awareness of what will await you during your 4th and 5th years.
